Round Peloponnese - The best of Greece

Around Peloponnese: Mainland Greece as few cyclists experience it

NEW 2027 – Around the Peloponnese: Greece as few cyclists experience it

For those of you who have cycled in the Alps, the Dolomites, Girona, or Mallorca, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find new cycling experiences that truly surprise you. That is why we are extra proud to present our new cycling trip in the Peloponnese – a spectacular tour through southwestern Greece that combines adventure, challenges, and authentic experiences.

Here, winding coastal roads along the crystal-clear Mediterranean await you, along with dramatic mountain passes overlooking the sea, small villages where time seems to have stood still, and a hospitality that only the Greeks can offer. Every day offers new landscapes, new impressions, and the feeling of discovering an area that is still relatively unknown to cycle tourism.

The terrain is varied and at times hilly, making the trip extra rewarding for those who like to challenge themselves. At the same time, this is a journey suitable for both strong road cyclists and cyclists on e-bikes. We cycle together, share the experiences, and enjoy the same views – regardless of your choice of bike.

Along the way, we stay at carefully selected hotels with character and comfort, enjoy Greek cuisine, and experience historical sites that tell the story of one of Europe's oldest cultural regions.

This is not just a commercial cycling trip. It is a journey through an authentic Greece – far from the tourist crowds, close to nature, the culture, and the people who make the Peloponnese one of the Mediterranean's best-kept secrets.

Who is the trip suitable for?

The daily program and routes are adapted to the group. If necessary, we split into smaller groups so everyone can cycle at their own pace and choose a distance that suits their daily form and preferences. However, we try to keep the group together as much as possible, as the social aspect is also an important part of the trip!

Quick facts about the stages and the area we cycle in

The stages vary from approx. 50 to 110 km, or from approx. 2 to 8 hours. The majority of the stages are ridden at a moderate pace, with individual cycling on the climbs.
For those who want more training, there will usually be opportunities for extra sessions and longer routes.
Those who want less training can choose to take a rest day on the beach or by the pool instead. The tour guides from Expa Travel are well acquainted with the area and lead the group on carefully selected roads / show you places you might not have found on your own.

The area is hilly with very varied routes. Along the coast it is less hilly, but also much busier. Further inland we find fantastic roads for cycling, with less traffic. Here, you should also expect more hilly terrain.

There are some routes you absolutely must experience on a trip like this, and many of these have been part of famous cycling races such as the Vuelta a España. The most famous climbs in the area are Coll de Rates, via Tarbena and Parcent.
In addition, trips through the Calpe, Parcent, and Guadalest triangle are a must.

If you want a short, but steep, challenge, you can cycle northeast along the beautiful Costa Blanca coast to Cumbre del Sol – and perhaps all the way up to Denia. From Denia you can also reach the beautiful climb up Vall d’Ebo.

To the south, you will find the charming old town of Altea, and the perhaps slightly less charming beach resort of Benidorm. These places are also great starting points for bike rides, including to Port de Tudons via Finestrat or Puerto Confrides.

The possibilities are therefore many, both for group rides and extra trips for those who want more of a challenge!
