Grading of our tours
The reason why we grade our tours
We want you to easily find a tour that suits you – both in terms of physical fitness and motivation. Therefore, we have divided the tours into three grades based on physical level, terrain, and daily distance.
📍 Grade 1 – Gentle and accessible
✅ Relatively flat landscape
✅ Suitable for those with normal fitness levels
✅ Requires some preparation, but most people manage this fine
Hiking
5–10 km per day, mostly flat. Somewhat hilly terrain with elevation differences up to approx. 300 meters.
Cycling
10–20 km per day in flat terrain. E-bikes are available on many tours.
📍 Grade 2 – Moderate with some challenge
✅ Hilly sections and some climbs
✅ You should be in reasonably good shape
✅ Some preparation is advisable – especially for cycling tours
Hiking
10–15 km per day. Varied terrain with hills and elevation differences up to approx. 500 meters.
Cycling
50–60 km per day with several climbs. Not for experts – but you should be used to cycling. We recommend that you prepare with a few 50–60 km rides in advance.
📍 Grade 3 – For those who enjoy a physical challenge
✅ Demanding terrain and long days
✅ You must be used to physical activity over time
✅ For those who like to feel it in their legs
Hiking
15–25 km per day in hilly landscapes. Days with elevation differences of 800–1500 meters.
Cycling
60–80 km per day with demanding climbs. We use road bikes and cycling shoes. E-bikes may be an option on some tours. You should be used to spending several hours in the saddle and managing several consecutive days of 60–80 km cycling.
