Hiking in the Dolomites - with Seiser Alm and Sassolungo

Magical hiking in the Dolomites!

Experience a week of fantastic hiking in the Dolomites, where mighty mountains and welcoming mountain huts give you experiences you will not soon forget.
Seiser Alm, the Rasciesa plateau, Sassolungo, Seceda, Col Raiser and St. Jacob's Church – we explore all these iconic destinations on foot, surrounded by spectacular scenery and views that will take your breath away.

With the mountain lifts, we comfortably make our way up to the starting points or down after the hikes, so we can enjoy nature without the heaviest climbs.
Along the way, we take breaks at mountain huts (rifugio) for lunch – perhaps even a refreshing Aperol Spritz in the alpine air.

Who is this trip suitable for

Our day hikes are between 1500–2500 meters in altitude, and are suitable for those who are Mature and in moderately good shape and above.
On the day hikes, you will experience the best of the Dolomites, combined with local food and drink, socializing and beautiful nature experiences.

We stay at the same hotel all week, with short distances to everything you need.

Are you traveling alone?

Traveling alone does not mean you have to be alone. On our trips, you meet like-minded people who share the joy of active travel. The atmosphere is informal and inclusive, and it is easy to hit it off with new hiking friends. Our trips are just as suitable for those who go solo as for those traveling with others. So sign up – you will be part of the group from the very beginning!

Day off midway through the program

On the 'day off', you are free to explore other activities such as SPA, cycling trips, climbing or hiking on your own (not included in the price). Our tour leader, Anne Grethe T. Vestrheim, will gladly help with suggestions and arrangements, so that you have a relaxing and pleasant day that suits your wishes.

Quick facts about the trip

The hikes last between 4 – 6 hours, in hilly terrain at altitudes between 1500 and 2500 meters above sea level. We spend most of the day out in the mountains, and although we notice the altitude a bit at first, the body quickly acclimates.
Most days we start by taking the mountain lift up the first 1000 meters of elevation, and we also take the lift back down in the afternoon. We want to spend our time in the mountains!

Opportunity for Via Ferrata

One of the days in the program is a so-called 'free day'. There will be no organized trips with a tour leader then.
But, on this day you can optionally join Anne Grethe on an exciting Via Ferrata! This tour starts at the Sella Pass, which is where the start of the Via Ferrata Sassolungo Forecella is. Quite simply a magical, and guaranteed unforgettable, experience. Worth every penny, because should you wish to participate in the Via Ferrata, there will be an extra cost of NOK 2,050 (rental of equipment + tour leader). No prior knowledge is required. You can sign up for the Via Ferrata excursion in the registration form when booking the trip.

Each afternoon and evening there will be time for your own activities, whether you want to explore the town, or just relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the hotel in the charming town of Selva di Val Gardena/Völkenstein.
We enjoy dinners in the hotel's restaurant, while lunches are either brought along or enjoyed at a cozy mountain hut (rifugio).

Free local bus

The local bus takes us to the various starting points for the hikes, which is absolutely the best option.
The local buses are free as long as we stay at a hotel in Val Gardena. All participants will receive a 'Gardena card' from the hotel, and by presenting this you can ride the bus for free during your entire stay. This card also applies if you, for example, wish to take the bus to Bolzano or Passo Pordoi on the “free day”.
