La Vuelta a España 2026 – from Girona to Andorra

The Vuelta a España 2026 race – From Girona to Andorra

Spanish atmosphere, Mediterranean climate, mountains, and spectacular nature

There are cycling races – and then there is La Vuelta de España. One of the world's greatest races!
In 2026, we are introducing our very first Expa tour during the Vuelta a España, where fantastic cycling is combined with the excitement surrounding one of cycling's major events.
The adventure starts in Girona – perhaps one of Europe's most legendary cycling cities – where the pros live, train, and find their inspiration in the Catalan mountains. From here, we cycle day by day into the Pyrenees, on small, beautiful roads through medieval towns, valleys, and mountain landscapes.

Our destination is Andorra – a true cycling mecca in the heart of the Pyrenees. High mountain roads, spectacular nature, and an atmosphere steeped in cycling history await us here. The crowning glory will be when we stand along the route and experience the legendary mountain stage that could decide the entire La Vuelta de España 2026.

This will be a week of great nature experiences, fantastic cycling, and genuine bike race atmosphere.

Who this trip is suitable for

This is the trip for those who want to experience both accomplishment and the very special Vuelta atmosphere – up close. The stages go through hilly terrain and into the Pyrenees, on roads where many of the pros train for large parts of the season, based in the cycling city of Girona.

The trip is suitable for you if you enjoy feeling the lactic acid in your legs, but also want to enjoy fantastic nature, great food, and a social community along the way. We cycle through small Catalan villages, open valleys, and up towards the dramatic mountains of the Pyrenees – with Andorra as our grand destination.

You should have some experience with hills and longer stages, but with an electric road bike as an option, most people with a bit of a training foundation can join in on the experience.
At the same time, this trip is just as much about enjoying as it is about performing – about rolling through charming mountain villages, stopping for good lunches, and feeling the atmosphere in the mountains that create drama every year in La Vuelta de España.

When we finally stand along the route and experience one of the decisive mountain stages in Andorra, it is easy to understand why this race is considered one of the greatest in cycling.
We envision a week filled with cycling joy, Pyrenees magic, Vuelta atmosphere, accomplishment, and memories for life.

Quick facts about the trip

You will fly direct with Norwegian from Oslo to Barcelona (flight tickets are not included).
Bus transport to Girona where we start our cycling experience, before we gradually move into the Pyrenees and end the adventure in Andorra – right in the middle of the drama surrounding one of the decisive stages of the Vuelta a España.

Along the way, we cycle some of the most beautiful and classic climbs in the area between Girona and Andorra. We change hotels along the way, and your luggage will be transported between the accommodations so you can focus on the cycling. What you need during the day, you carry in a small backpack. Water is topped up along the way, and of course, there will be nice coffee stops – as always on Expa trips.

All meals, from dinner on the first evening to breakfast on the departure day, are included. Lunches vary between picnics along the way and simple restaurant visits – usually a good main course. Dinners are mainly enjoyed at the hotels we stay at, or at local restaurants. Drinks are not included.

The bikes are delivered to the hotel on the first day by our local partner. Good full-carbon bikes of a recent model. You bring your own pedals, helmet, and water bottle from home.

We cycle as one group at a pace where the experience is at the center. The stages can be both hilly and challenging, but the goal is first and foremost to enjoy the cycling, the scenery, and the atmosphere.

The trip ends with one of the week's great highlights: We experience the Vuelta a España up close in Andorra – and feel the very special atmosphere as the world elite battle their way up the mountainsides.
