Day 1Arrival Lago Maggiore / Winery Visit in Gattinara

Arrival at Milan Malpensa. The tour guide is waiting at the airport. From here we drive directly from the airport to the famous wine region of Gattinara – for a visit to the Tenuta Travaglini winery. Expect about a one-hour transfer to the winery. Here there will be a guided tour, a pleasant meal with tasting of the estate's wines (included). High quality – a magical place!

After the visit to the winery, there will be transport onward to Lago Maggiore and check-in at Hotel Ghiffa. A little time to look around before we meet in the bar for a welcome drink.

Dinner tonight is at the hotel's restaurant (included).

Day 2Hike in the mountains close to the hotel

Those who wish can start the day with a refreshing morning swim.

After breakfast at around 10:30, the tour guide will have a brief group briefing on the route for the hike. Here we will distribute some of the picnic items that the tour guide has purchased.

We start directly at the hotel and set our course up towards the Santa Trinita chapel. The first part goes up through the small villages. Once at the top, there are many possibilities depending on how long a hike we want. Beautiful beech forest and many fine hiking trails. We expect a hike of about 3 hours. If we make it all the way to the top of the mountain, we get a fantastic view over the whole of Lago Maggiore and towards the nearby Alps. On the return descent, we stop for a fantastic picnic with local ingredients. Right by the chapel, we have a magical spot perfect for a picnic :-)

Once back at the hotel in the early afternoon, there is time to relax on the beach or by the pool before a joint dinner in the hotel's restaurant (included).

Day 3Boat trip on Lago Maggiore and lunch on Isola dei Pescatori

The day starts with a morning swim for those who wish.

After a relaxing breakfast, we gather at the pier to board our own private motorboat – there will be an excursion on Lago Maggiore!
The destination is the island of Isola dei Pescatori.
The noble Borromeo family has had a major influence in the area around Lago Maggiore since the Middle Ages. These islands have been important to the Borromeo family since medieval times. It is possible to visit, among other things, their palace and exotic garden (recommended), before it is time for a wonderful lunch at a pleasant restaurant on Isola Bella (included).

After lunch, we cruise along the “coast” back to our hotel.
The afternoon is at leisure, with the opportunity for sunbathing, swimming, and socializing. Perhaps a self-guided hike in the mountains near the hotel will tempt you.

Group dinner at a local trattoria (included).

Day 4Departure

Transport to the airport is scheduled for 09:30. The recommended flight departs at 13:30.
