KIF Cycling – From Passo Stelvio to Lake Garda 2026

KIF Cycling to Italy - with Passo Stelvio & Passo Gavia on the program

Cycling trip from the highest Alps to idyllic Lake Garda – magical experiences!

A week of truly great cycling and nature experiences. The trip starts in Bormio, the town located at the foot of some of the most famous mountain passes in the world: Passo Stelvio, Passo Gavia, and Passo Mortirolo.

After a few days in Bormio, you cycle onwards on legendary cycle paths heading towards Lake Garda, constantly surrounded by majestic mountains.

The daily stages are between 60 and 90 kilometers, featuring magical mountain passes along the way. This is a trip filled with great cycling experiences, unique landscapes, and charming, handpicked hotels.

Quick facts about the trip

You fly to Milan Malpensa (flight tickets not included), and from there transport awaits directly north to Bormio, where you will spend two nights.

Already on the first cycling day, you get the opportunity to cycle up one of the world's most legendary mountain passes – Passo Stelvio! Over the next few days, you continue south, including over Passo Gavia, and further down to the idyllic Lake Garda. There will be two overnight stays along the way on the journey to Lake Garda and colorful Torbole.

The stages go on both cycle paths and less busy roads.
Although there is no support vehicle on the trip, your luggage is transported between the hotels.

Who is the trip suitable for

The stages go over some of the highest mountain passes in Europe. In addition to the long climbs, you will also notice the altitude. If you have prepared with several long rides and hill training, we recommend a standard road bike. If you are unsure of your fitness level, we recommend an E-road or e-gravel bike. Previous participants on e-bikes have given very positive feedback.

You must expect that you will probably spend the whole day getting over the highest mountain passes, such as Passo Stelvio and Passo Gavia.
