Quick facts about the trip
All training takes place outdoors – either in the morning sun on the beach or in the area around / at the hotel.
Anki shares, as always, generously of her knowledge about an active lifestyle.
The program is filled with physical activity and training for both body and mind – mixed with pleasant excursions and time to enjoy the beach and the Mediterranean Sea right next to the hotel.
📍 Did you know this?
The Adriatic Sea is a part of the Mediterranean Sea – like an "arm" stretching between Italy on the west side and Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, and Albania on the east side.
Cycling tours and hikes
The program includes two tours on e-bikes and two hikes in the landscape around Gabicce Mare. Along the way, we visit medieval towns such as Gradara, Saludecio, and Mondaino – in addition to the tiny republic of San Marino. Some places we reach by bike, others on foot, with history, views, and everyday Italian life along the way.
Between activities, there will also be time for beach life, great meals, and quiet moments at the hotel. A week with Anki should, after all, have room for both a high pulse and a holiday feeling.
The hikes
One of the hikes goes through Monte San Bartolo Natural Park, just south of Gabicce Mare. It goes uphill at the start, but the reward comes quickly with a great view of the Adriatic Sea. We pass small villages like Gabicce Monte and Casteldimezzo, before taking a coffee break at the idyllic, small harbor Porto di Vallugola. Along the way, hilly terrain, lush nature, and great viewpoints along the coast await.
The hike is approx. 9 km and is graded as moderately demanding. We take the boat back along the coast to Gabicce Mare.
The second hike takes us to the medieval town of Gradara. We start in Gabicce and follow paths and small roads through the landscape via Fanano, before arriving at Gradara and the impressive castle towering over the town. We walk along the mighty fortress walls, with views of Marche and the Adriatic Sea, before having lunch at a local trattoria.
The hike is approx. 10 km and is also graded as moderately demanding.
For those who would like to walk a bit more during the week, there are also several nice hiking opportunities on your own directly from the hotel.
