Anki & Lene are once again inviting you to an active trip, and this time they look forward to showing you a truly beautiful corner of Italy! In 2026, the trip goes to Gabicce Mare, a cosy little town along the Adriatic Coast – right where the Italian regions of Marche and Emilia Romagna meet.

Here you get the best of both worlds: great beaches, beautiful landscapes, a pleasant hotel, and an inspiring combination of training, cycling, and hiking – all right near where we live.

Our energetic tour leaders Anki & Lene will of course lead fun and varied sessions – preferably in the morning sun on the beach or in the area around the hotel.

We will stay at a charming 4★ family hotel with the beach right outside the door and a kitchen that our previous guests have truly praised. The atmosphere makes it feel a bit like coming home.

The Adriatic Sea is part of the Mediterranean – like an "arm" stretching between Italy on the west side and Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, and Albania on the east side.

Many fun activities

The program includes two exciting e-bike trips and two hikes. If you like small adventures and history, you will find several medieval towns nearby – including Gradara, Saludecio, Mondaino, and the small republic of San Marino. All of them are full of history, charm, and Italian joy of life. We will cycle to some of them!

This will be a new and exciting area – while we keep everything that makes the trips with Anki & Lene so popular and unique: exciting excursions, fun workouts, laughter, togetherness, and the genuine Italian holiday atmosphere.

The program is filled with physical activity and training for both body and mind – mixed with pleasant excursions and time to enjoy the beach and the Mediterranean Sea right by the hotel.

Two e-bike excursions and two hikes

The excursions are with local guides who know the area well.

This time we have planned two great trips with e-bikes (or road bikes if you prefer). The area is known for its hilly and green landscape – perfect for cycling.

One of the days we cycle into the hilly terrain to some of the many medieval towns in the area. Along the way, we stop in Mondaino, among other places, to taste the local Formaggio di Fossa cheese.

The second bike ride follows the famous Strada Panoramica, just south of Gabicce Mare – a classic for cyclists in the area. Along the route, we stop at a vineyard for a picnic (Tenuta Carlini). A magical cycle path with many beautiful viewpoints for both photos and short breaks.

The landscape on these trips will probably surprise you – hilly and lush. The trips are designed so that everyone can join on an e-bike, regardless of experience. If you are in good cycling shape, you can opt for a road bike.
The bike excursions are approx. 50 km long with approx. 500-600 meters of elevation gain. In other words, it is hilly terrain.

The hikes

One hike follows the paths through the Monte San Bartolo Parco Naturale (national park), just south of Gabicce Mare. Uphill at the start and with great views of the Adriatic Sea. We pass charming villages like Gabicce Monte and Casteldimezzo, before a coffee break at the idyllic little harbor Porto di Vallugola. Hilly terrain, lush nature, and fantastic coastal panoramas. The hike is approx. 9 km and is graded as medium difficulty.

The second hike takes us to Gradara. We start from Gabicce and follow paths and small roads up through the landscape via Fanano, before arriving in Gradara – one of Italy's best-preserved medieval castles. We arrive at the town along the mighty fortress walls, and get a magical view of Marche and the Adriatic Sea. Here there will be lunch at a local trattoria.
The hike is approx. 10 km and is graded as medium difficulty.

There are also many opportunities for hikes on your own directly from the hotel for those who wish to do so.

After arrival in Bologna, we will take a transfer bus directly to the hotel. We should expect a bus ride of approximately 1.5 - 2 hours.

We check in at the hotel. We will see if there is time for a light workout session before dinner, or potentially some sightseeing in cozy Gabicce Mare before we gather in the bar for a welcome drink.

We start the day at 07:30 (before breakfast) with Yoga.
Tip! If you have a yoga mat or similar, please bring it along as the grass/beach is often damp so early in the morning.

After breakfast, we meet the local guide in the reception at 09:30. Today we are going on an exciting excursion: Hiking in Parco San Bartolo.
The hike goes through Parco Naturale del Monte San Bartolo, a beautiful coastal area stretching between Gabicce and Pesaro. The route starts at our hotel in Gabicce Mare and winds up to the village of Gabicce Monte, and further along small paths with views of the Adriatic Sea / Mediterranean Sea.
We will stop by the charming village of Casteldimezzo before moving down to the small harbor Porto di Vallugola for a coffee break and possibly something to eat (not included). A break with a sea view...
Then we take an easier path back via Gabicce Monte and down to the hotel.
The hike is approximately 10 km in hilly terrain / about 3 – 4 hours

A little free time for sun & beach before dinner, which we recommend you have at one of the many restaurants by the harbor in Gabicce Mare (not included).

At 08:00 (before breakfast) we gather for a joint Yoga session. The hotel has a beautiful garden area, so there are plenty of options for conducting workout sessions here.

We meet again after breakfast, at 10:30, for a joint Bootcamp workout. Afterwards, you will have free time until we gather at 17:30 for a core strength session focused on abs/back.

We start the day with Yoga at 08:00.
After breakfast, we gather at around 10:00 for an exciting bike ride. We will take some time to adjust our e-bikes individually. A short briefing with our cycling guide.
Then the tour heads inland, setting course for Saludecio and Mondaino. Great cycling routes in a hilly landscape with little traffic. We stop in some of the towns for a coffee break and a light snack (not included).
In Mondaino, we visit a small, local producer of the cheese Formaggio di Fossa. Here we get to sample some cheese before returning to the coast.
The tour takes approx. 4 hours and is about 50 km and approx. 500 meters of elevation gain.

We are back at the hotel in the early afternoon, and will likely have time for a short workout session as well as a swim in the Adriatic Sea / Mediterranean Sea!

At 10:00, which is after breakfast, we gather for a new exciting cycling excursion. Today the route goes first towards Gradara, then we cycle south to Pesaro for a coffee stop (not included). This is where the famous cycling route Strada Panoramica begins. Hilly and scenic road with several viewpoints along the way. During the ride, we arrive at the Tenuta Carlini winery where we stop for a picnic lunch (included).
We will be back at the hotel in the early afternoon, in good time for a dip in the Mediterranean before sunset.

In total, the ride is approx. 50 km and approx. 600 meters of elevation gain.

We gather again after breakfast, at 09:30, for an exciting excursion. The local mountain guide gives a short briefing before departure. On today's hike, we follow paths uphill to the medieval village of Gradara. Here we climb onto the walls and get a fantastic view of both the town and the landscape. It's a wonderful place with a rich history.
In the town we will have lunch at a local trattoria (included).

The hike is approximately 10 km in hilly terrain, without being too demanding.

In the afternoon there will be some time for sun & beach before a varied training session at 17:30.
