On Vespas, we ride to charming small mountain villages – some of which you might recognize from The Godfather movies. Along narrow, winding roads, in a landscape that easily takes your breath away.
We will stay comfortably at Hotel Villa Esperia, within short walking distance to the beach and the cable car that takes us up to beautiful Taormina. This small town, 200 meters up the hillside, offers views of the sea, the bay, Mount Etna, and the small islands – pure magic! Here, there is a lively atmosphere, cozy alleys, squares, restaurants, and small shops.
The trip offers exciting scooter excursions, but also time for sun, beach, socializing, and everything Taormina has to offer. Guaranteed lots of fun and memories for life!

Arrival at Catania airport at approx. 20:00. There is a transfer of just over an hour to the hotel.
Check-in at the hotel and gathering for a joint dinner in the hotel's restaurant (included).
For those who wish, the day starts with a lovely morning swim.
After breakfast, we take the cable car up to Taormina, where we pick up the scooters/Vespas. We take plenty of time for test driving and testing, so that everyone feels comfortable before we set off on the mountain road towards the small town of Castelmola. The town is located on the mountain slope above Taormina. The view here is truly striking, and there will be several photo stops along the way.
We then continue on narrow mountain roads all the way to Roccafiorita, a small gem of a town that you might recognize from the Godfather movies. From here, we have only a few kilometers to the top of Monte Kalfa, now talk about a view!!
After a while, we follow the mountain ridge further along a narrow road with views on both sides, before driving down to Lena & Leif's vineyard. Here, we get a tour and a light lunch with tasting of their own wines (included). For the sake of further driving on the Vespa, the tasting is kept to small quantities – if you want more, wine can be purchased and enjoyed later in the evening.
After lunch, the route goes down towards the sea, where we follow the coast back to the hotel. Today's leg is approx. 60 km.
Some free time in the afternoon to enjoy the sun and sea, before we gather for a joint dinner in a local restaurant (included).
For those who wish, the day starts with a lovely morning swim.
After breakfast, we head inland, following the river Alcantara for a few kilometers before we see the town of Castiglione di Sicilia towering on the hill. In this town, you easily get the feeling that time has stood still. We take a short coffee stop before driving further upwards.
Along the way, we can see locations where Etna has had regular eruptions over the last thousand years. Where the lava flow once flowed, the landscape is now lush and ideal for cultivating some of Southern Italy's best grapes – powerful wines with plenty of character!
We continue through this unique landscape, almost all the way up to Mount Etna, to 1800 m above sea level. There we turn around and drive back towards the coast. On the way down, we stop for lunch at a mountain lodge, where we are served delicious, local food (included).
Full and satisfied, we then follow the coast homewards towards Taormina and our hotel, where we can enjoy an afternoon swim in the sheltered bay between the cliffs.
In the evening, we end the trip with a pleasant, joint dinner at a cozy restaurant in the town of Taormina (included).
For those who wish, the day starts with a lovely morning swim.
We enjoy the morning with a looong breakfast on the terrace by the sea before setting off on new adventures once again.
Today's goals are the mountain towns of Savoca, Limina and Forza d’Agrò. The towns are spectacularly placed on the edge of the mountain, with a formidable view.
In Savoca, on the town's piazza, we enjoy lunch (included), the view and the unique atmosphere that only Sicily can offer. If you have seen the Godfather movies, it is possible you will recognize the area here as well.
We expect to be back at the hotel at approx 15:00. Time for relaxation, a trip to the beach or around the pool.

The whole day at your leisure, for sun & sea, sightseeing, shopping in Taormina or just to enjoy yourself.
