Quick facts about the trip
This is without a doubt a trip for those who love outdoor adventure! You do not need to be in peak physical condition, but some preparation is required. A few weekly hikes in advance with plenty of elevation gain are necessary. You must also function well socially in a group, as well as enjoy camping in nature. Flexibility and adaptability are essential. These new friendships will likely be some of the things you remember best.
Along the way, there will be some challenging sections, so some skill in control, balance, and confidence in placing your feet is required. In the slightly more technical sections, the experienced mountain guides will provide you with all the necessary guidance and safety backup you need to negotiate the passages safely! You will get close to nature, the local culture, and are guaranteed to make new friends.
This is a popular trip worldwide, so there will likely be participants of several nationalities. Maximum 8 people per guide. Multiple groups with multiple guides may walk together, but in that case, probably with a maximum of 12 people in total.
Simple accommodation standard
Accommodation is simple, with overnight stays at B&B hotels on the first and last nights. The rest of the nights we stay in tents or at simple campsites where we spend the night "under cover" with access to a toilet/shower, and two nights in tents where we do not have access to a shower and toilet. During the hike, you carrying a smaller daypack, 30 – 40 liters, with what you need during the day, such as technical equipment, water, energy bars, and a packed lunch. The lighter, the better. The rest of the luggage is transported to the various overnight camps. On the starting day, you will be handed a 60-liter container where you pack your personal luggage as well as a sleeping bag and mattress. This will then be transported to the accommodation sites.
