5 countries in 6 days – an unforgettable cycling trip in Europe

Bike ride through five countries – Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands

On a cycling trip through 5 countries in 6 days

A unique cycling trip through the heart of Europe, where you will cycle through as many as five countries – Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands.

Expa Travel has arranged everything for you – from hotel stays to breakfasts, as well as most lunches and dinners. You can just show up and enjoy the cycling trip without any worries.
Your luggage will be transported from hotel to hotel, so you don't have to cycle with extra weight.

Quick facts about the trip

The trip starts in idyllic Bernkastel-Kues, where the Moselle River winds through the landscape, surrounded by vineyards, castles, and picturesque villages. On the day of arrival, you first adjust the bike to your own measurements. After that, we recommend that you take a trip to discover Bernkastel-Kues on your own.
For wine enthusiasts, there are opportunities to experience some of the world-famous wine culture in the Moselle Valley.

The entire bike ride is on bike-friendly paths in beautiful surroundings, perfectly adapted for cyclists.
You start by cycling in the romantic Moselle Valley in Germany, before pedaling on to Luxembourg with its charming villages and cycling infrastructure that feels more luxurious than anywhere else we have cycled before.

Then the journey continues towards the Ardennes and over to Belgium, where parts of the route run along a disused railway line. A stop for Belgian chocolate is mandatory! Eventually, you will briefly enter France before once again crossing the border back into Belgium and beautiful Dinant. A fantastically lovely town where you will spend the night.

From Dinant, the trip continues across the border to the Netherlands, where the journey ends in the town of Valkenburg.

On the final day, you will get to challenge yourself with two iconic "classic climbs" – Mur de Huy and Cauberg in Valkenburg.

Who is this trip suitable for

This cycling tour attracts cyclists from all over the world. Although there are no high mountain stages on the trip, you will still accumulate up to 1200 meters of elevation gain per day. The terrain varies, with some hilly sections and other flatter stretches, such as along the rivers. This makes the trip a fun and varied cycling experience.

If you are comfortable with training rides of 70-100 km per day, you will master this trip. The stages are cycled at a pace that suits the group's level, with support and motivation from our local guides, who have in-depth knowledge of the area. You will probably feel it in your body along the way – but that is of course part of the joy of cycling trips!

This is the trip for you if you value cycling experiences, not just the number of kilometers or Strava statistics. Here, you get to experience the nature, the roads, the breaks, the cycling culture, the meals, and the culture up close.

If you want, you can also experience a journey in food and drink along the way, from the wine culture in the Moselle Valley via local food culture along the entire route, to Maison Leffe, which has its brewery in Dinant and roots dating back to 1240.
On this trip, you literally get to taste five countries.
