In May, Expa Travel and tour leader Anne Grethe invite YOU to an exciting and fun activity trip on the Costa Blanca coast of Spain!
A week where you will stay at the beautiful, newly renovated Cap Negret in Altea. Right down by the beach. With all facilities. If there are many participants, there will be two tour leaders.
On this trip, we combine mountain hiking along the fantastic Costa Blanca with visits to, among other places, the small mountain village of Guadalest. There will be different excursions in various areas of the Alicante province every day. With varying levels of difficulty, but at the same time arranged so that the trips are adapted to everyone.
There is a guaranteed top-up of laughter, new friendships, and lots of fun.
We will, of course, also set aside some time for relaxing on the beach or by the pool at the hotel. The hotel we will be staying at is located right on the beach, within walking distance of Altea.
After-hike, city life, markets, sightseeing, bubbles, and perhaps a little shopping, you will likely also find time for.

Arrival at Alicante Airport in the afternoon. Joint transfer bus to Hotel Cap Negret in Altea, transfer time is approx. 1 hour. Check-in upon arrival.
Joint information and dinner in the hotel's restaurant at 19:00 (included).
Morning swim and breakfast. It is is allowed to be tempted by a swim in the Mediterranean or in the hotel's pool area before enjoying breakfast.
Afterwards, we are ready for a great start to the week with an easy and scenic hike out to the Lighthouse – El Faro. The tour starts in Albir, where we take a local bus or tram.
Great, wide hiking trail along the mountain all the way out to the lighthouse. With the beautiful azure blue sea on our left side. Several Kodak moments at the viewpoints along the way.
For those of you who want that little extra, we also walk down to the Ochre Mines (Minas de Ocre), and follow the path all the way down to the small beach Cala de la Mina for a swim.
Those who do not wish to do this can walk back to Albir and take local transport back to Altea and Cap Negret.
Lunch at a restaurant in Albir for those who wish (not included), alternatively you can take local transport back to the hotel for the lunch buffet there (included).
Joint dinner at the hotel at 19:00.
Breakfast and perhaps a morning swim?
With an elevation of 1408 meters above sea level, Puig Campana is the second highest peak in the Alicante province. We are not going to the top, but we will walk around the mountain itself.
We start with a short drive from the hotel (approx. 20 min), and up through beautiful Finestrat where the starting point of this hike is. On the drive, you will get to see a bit of the countryside outside the coastal town of Altea where we are staying.
On this hike, we thus walk around the Puig Campana mountain. Magical views all the way, both towards the coast and eventually on the other side towards the mountains further inland.
Nice path of approx. 11 kilometers, with approx. 400 meters of total elevation gain.
A self-packed lunch from the hotel is brought along (included), which we enjoy about halfway through the hike. By then, we have completed the longest climb.
We start relatively early and expect to be back at Cap Negret in the late afternoon. Probably a few hours on a sun lounger will tempt you before a joint dinner in the hotel's restaurant, at approx. 19:00 (included).
After a nice long trip yesterday, we take it a bit easier today. After breakfast, we walk approx. 5 km up to the Enrique Mendoza Winery. Here we get an exciting and educational guided tour. Afterwards, we taste 7 different wines and some local specialties. Experience shows that tempers rise in step with the wine tasting
We walk back to the hotel from the winery, alternatively you can book a taxi at your own expense. Hopefully, we will make it in time for the lunch buffet at the hotel (included).
The rest of the day can be enjoyed on a sun lounger on the beach or by the hotel pool. Alternatively, do some sightseeing in Altea on your own.

The Mediterranean might tempt you with a swim before breakfast today too?
Transfer to today's starting point, which is the Finestrat beach in Benidorm. Here we walk on the cliffs along the sea almost all the way to the colorful coastal town of Villajoyosa. It is a nice path to walk on, and we can catch glimpses of today's destination ahead of us all the time.
Once arrived at the small and beautiful Mediterranean town, we take time for a short city walk among the small, colorful, and beautiful houses here. In this town, you are actually not allowed to paint your house the same color as your next-door neighbor. Therefore, it is called the colorful town.
Villajoyosa has a beautiful sandy beach where we can rest our feet and cool off in the sea after the hike.
You can bring your lunch / packed lunch from the hotel, or order something completely different and tasty at your own expense at one of the beach restaurants in the town (not included). After lunch, you can continue to enjoy the day in Villajoyosa, and then return to the hotel on your own via local transport (own expense).
Joint dinner at the hotel at approx. 19:00 (included).
We take a quiet start to the day with a swim and breakfast before taking the bus (included) up to the beautiful town of Guadalest.
Guadalest is a charming, small town that occupies a fantastic location not far from Altea. Offering impressive views of the surrounding mountains and the dammed, turquoise lake Embalse de Guadalest.
One of the most famous attractions in Guadalest is the castle, which is located on top of a cliff and gives us a panoramic view.
You can also drop by some of the many museums, shops, or cozy cafes there for a lunch (not included). Or bring a packed lunch from the hotel.
Tour guide Anne Grethe is of course with us and available during our stay here, but it can be nice to stroll around a bit at your own pace and visit whatever you might wish. This is a real gem of a town.
There will be time for sun and swimming upon returning to the hotel.

We start the day with our usual morning swim and breakfast.
This last day of hiking, we will take you along the beautiful promenade from Cap Negret and into the center of Altea. We will make some short and cozy stops at some "watering holes" (not included). The tour also goes up to the old town of Altea, known as "Altea la Vella". A charming town with cobbled streets, white houses with colorful flowers, and a fantastic view of the Mediterranean Sea. Those who wish can pay a short visit to the beautiful church Nuestra Senora del Consuelo with its characteristic blue dome
Joint lunch somewhere in the old town, either a brought packed lunch or at a cozy cafe (at own expense) before we hike back to the hotel.
Time for self-care and enjoying the warmth before the farewell dinner at the hotel at approx. 19:00 (included).
After a week filled with new memories and good company, it is time to return home. Joint transfer to Alicante Airport early in the morning.
